I have always been deeply interested in the innate and wonderful potential of human beings to achieve emotional well-being despite negative and stressful experiences. This is why I decided to become a professional in mental health, first completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2004 and then achieving the qualification of Chartered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist (HCPC registration #PYL34402), Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
I am currently registered with several professional bodies in the UK and in Italy.
I have more than 15 years of professional experience. I worked as a Psychologist in London in prestigious organisations, such as the Anna Freud Centre, South London and Maudsley Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital. I also have a solid background in scientific research, having worked as a Researcher at King’s College, University College and Imperial College of London publishing several papers in international medical journals.
Living in a bi-cultural family and having experienced being an expatriate myself, I developed a strong interest on how being immersed in another culture can impact people’s lives. Over the last several years, I have worked with expatriates from over 50 different countries, specialising in anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, personality disorders and dissociation.
At present, I work in my private practice in London, providing psychotherapy to adults and adolescents in English and Italian. I have extensive clinical experience providing therapy to high-profile international clients.
Also, I believe it is vital in my profession to continue our own psychotherapeutic work, as well as clinical supervision and continued professional development.
